Mets Put an End To Arbitration Again

Víctor Zambrano and Chris Woodward have both agreed to contracts bringing the total number of Mets eligible for arbitration down to zero. That’s a good way to go into spring training.

Zambrano’s contract calls for him to make $3 million guaranteed. There are incentives involved but I noticed that an incentive to win the CY Young award was omitted so I guess we can look forward to another mediocre year from him.

If you think $3 million is alot for a guy who went 7-12 with a 4.17 ERA then you’ll be totally outraged to learn that Kip Wells will be getting $4.15 million for the year from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Wells was 8-18 with a 5.09 ERA last year leading the league in losses.
