Roster

It’s Official!!

As I wrote earlier today the Mets held a press conference at 3 pm to announce the signing of Billy Wagner. $43 million over four-years. Welcome to hell, Billy.

Wagner’s a Met!

The Mets closed out Thanksgiving weekend by giving their fans something to be thankful for. For the second year in a row the Mets have landed the most sought after free agent on the market. Last year it was Pedro Martinez and Carlos Beltran. This year it’s Billy Wagner. The team will hold a press […]

A Year Later, The Mets Bag Delgado

It’s been a while since I wrote but yesterday’s trade was so big it merits some discussion. When the Mets traded Mike Cameron to the Padres last week for Xavier Nady it was accepted mainly for the cost cutting aspects of it. Nady is not nearly as accomplished as Cameron and the Mets used the […]

Looper’s Blown Season

I am so inseced by the news about Braden Looper‘s shoulder that I don’t even know where to begin. Looper was hurt even before the season began. He was told he needed surgery that would cause him to miss the early part of the season. The other option was to play through it because the […]

Willie’s Take on Looper

Willie Randolph went on the defensive yesterday about Braden Looper‘s status on the team. Here’s what Randolph responded to the question of if he would use someone else as the closer. At this point in the season, no. He’s my closer. He’s been my closer. He’s got the most saves of anybody on my team. […]

Trachsel to the Pen?

I said last week that I didn’t think the Mets 6 man rotation would last too long. It seems like it’s going to end sooner than even I thought it would. Several reports have Steve Trachsel moving to the bullpen since the team has scheduled Víctor Zambrano to start Friday in Florida. Very odd timing […]

Trachsel Joins Six Man Rotation

Steve Trachsel was activated from the DL yesterday ending what seemed to be an endless rehab assignment. It was also announced that he will be part of a six man rotation getting his first start Friday night between Pedro Martinez and Kris Benson. The six man rotation is not a bad idea this time of […]

Beltran and Cameron Worse Than Originally Thought

Newsday is reporting that the injuries to Carlos Beltran and Mike Cameron are worse than originally diagnosed. Cameron will need surgery on the broken bones in his face and Beltran has a displaced facial fracture that will most likely not need surgery but will have some more tests done today. Cameron is probably gone for […]

Mets Sign Takatsu

The Mets signed former White Sox reliever Shingo Takatsu to a minor league deal. Unless something crazy happens I don’t expect him to be promoted to the big league club until the roster expansion in September.

Dayn Perry Suggests Sexston to the Mets

FOXSports.com’s Dayn Perry has an article on 5 trades that need to happen by sunday’s trade deadline. One of thos 5 trades is the Mets acquisition of Mariners first baseman Richie Sexson.
