Injuries

Koo Goes On The DL

Dae-Sung Koo has been placed on the DL with a contusion on his left rotator cuff. The injury occurred when he jammed his pitching shoulder sliding headfirst into homeplate against the Yankees May 21. Despite a report in yesterday’s Daily News Steve Colyer was not recalled to replace Koo on the major league roster. Royce […]

Swept by Atlanta

Click here for a recap of last night’s game. The Mets failed to score a run for the second game in a row. In yesterday’s Game Comments I said that the Mets not being able to score was a great concern. Perhaps I was being alarmist based on the fact that the pitcher they were […]

Decisions, Decisions

It’s going to be an interesting next week or so for the Mets brass as they have alot of decisions to make. A couple of roster moves were made yesterday but they cloud the picture more than they clear it up. Kazuhisa Ishii was activated off of the 15-day disabled list to start tonight’s game […]

Benson on the DL

Looks like I made an accidental prophecy this morning regarding Kris Benson‘s injury. I mentioned this morning how injuries like Benson’s strained muscle can turn into nagging ones over the course of the season if not treated properly. Rather than pitch through it the Mets decided to put Benson on the DL (hence treating the […]

Cameron’s Wrist

Mike Cameron will likely miss opening day due to his wrist injury. Cameron had surgery on the wrist in December but still aimed to play on opening day. Doctors said the pain he was feeling in his wrist was due to scar tissue and happens often during recovery from this type of surgery. Still, I […]

Benson Pushed

Number 3 starter Kris Benson felt tightness during a bullpen session the other day and will have his first regular season start pushed to Saturday against the Atlanta (he was originally schedule to pitch Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds). Everyone is downplaying the injury and it probably is nothing but I always worry about people […]

Bad News on the Injury Front

Jose Reyes took himself out of yesterday’s rehab game with St. Lucie. He tweaked his hammy trying to run out an infield single. Not much else is known. Cliff Floyd is not yet ready for a rehab game and is now not expected back until Tuesday in San Francisco at the earliest.

Leiter Injured?

It’s been reported locally that Al Leiter is pitching with a sore shoulder. He refuses to get it looked at because at this point in his career he wouldn’t have surgery anyway. I respect his decision of not wanting surgery but if this is going to cost him innings and/or effectiveness then he owes it […]

Wigginton Has Ulcer

The AP is reporting that Ty Wigginton has been diagnosed with an ulcer. He’ll be released from the hospital this weekend and will play in some rehab games while on the DL.

Ty Wigginton Taken To Hospital

Ty Wigginton has been taken to the hospital after fainting at home. He’s probably headed for the DL. Time to put baseball aside for a second and wish Ty a speedy recovery.
