Wright and Beltran: Silver Sluggers

David Wright and Carlos Beltran are at it again. The two Mets who won Gold Gloves early last week were also awarded Silver Slugger awards for best offensive players at their respective positions.



The Men With The Golden Gloves

The Gold Glove award winners were announced today and two Mets players were among them. David Wright won the award at third base and Carlos Beltran won in the outfield. It is Wright’s first gold glove and Beltran’s second.

Schoeneweis May Be Suspended

According to an AP article Scott Schoeneweis and the other players implicated in the Albany County investigation into possession of banned substances. It looks like 2008 may be the second season in a row that the Mets start with a suspended reliever. (Last season started with a 50 game suspension for Guillermo Mota.)
