Jets

Same Old Jets

I haven’t written about the Jets yet this year because there hasn’t been very much to write about. Once again they snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory today in losing to the Cincinnati Bengals 38-31 to drop to 1-6 on the season. This time Chad Pennington is not the only one to blame. […]

Jets Get A Running Back

Shifting gears to football. The Jets engineered a trade for Chicago Bears running back Thomas Jones. This deal is tremendous. The Jets also swapped second round picks with the Bears so they essentially got an All Pro running back in exchange for the opportunity to draft higher in the second round of the draft. What […]

No Replay for Jets

Everyone is up in arms over the non-review in the last seconds of the Jets game yesterday. Though I agree that the play should have been reviewed (if the rules state that it could not be reviewed then the rules need to be changed) I must say that the fact that the play was even […]

Martin, McCareins and PUP

The Jets opened camp by quietly putting star running back Curtis Martin on the physically unable to perform list (PUP). That means that Martin is unable to participate in team practices but can attend meetings and rehab with the team. Also PUPed was starting wide receiver Justin McCareins. The two can be removed from the […]

It’s Official: Edwards is Chief Chief

According to a report on ESPN.com Herman Edwards is now the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. News conference is pending.

Edwards One Step Closer to KC

It’s been widely reported that the Jets negotiations with Kansas City for granting the Chiefs permission to speak with head coach Herman Edwards about their vacant head coaching position concluded with the Jets receiving only a fourth round draft pick as compensation should their coach change sidelines. Regardless of anything I have said about Edwards […]

Jets News Conference Postponed

The Jets 11 am news conference this morning was postponed. No new date/time was given. The cause of this was the hesitance of the Chiefs to complete the compensation deal for the services of head coach Herman Edwards based on the belief that Jets owner Woody Johnson doesn’t want Edwards around anymore and would probably […]

Edwards Goes to KC

It looks like all those quotes of Herman Edwards saying he wasn’t leaving the Jets was a pack of lies. The Jets are holding a press conference at 11 am today in which it is expected that GM Terry Bradway will announce that Edwards will be coaching the Kansas City Chiefs next season. I can’t […]

Three Things The Jets Need To Address First

So the Jets season ended with a win on Sunday giving them a 4-12 record on the season and pushing their draft pick a couple of slots lower down in the order. Here’s a quick look at issues that will need attention in the next few weeks (pre-draft) before what promises to be a very […]

R.I.P. Bud Carson

The AP is reporting today that former Jets defensive coordinator Bud Carson has died. Carson, who was with the Jets in the 80’s is better known as being the architect of Pittsburgh’s Steel Curtain defense in the 70’s. Rest in peace.
