Things To Look For Tonight

Things to watch for in tonight’s game against the Expos:

  • Mike Piazza is stuck on 350 career home runs. One more will tie him with Carlton Fisk for number one on the all time list of home runs by a catcher. Piazza had been slumping but went 2 for 3 last night and hit a ball to the warning track. Maybe facing a last place team was exactly what he needed to get his swing and confidence back.

  • Al Leiter takes his 0.00 season ERA to the mound tonight. Leiter hasn’t allowed a run in 24 1/3 innings (going back to last September). One more scoreless inning will tie his career high for consecutive shutout innings.
