Who Will Make Room For Milledge?
Lastings Milledge will join the Mets tonight and be the regular left fielder until Moises Alou returns from the disabled list. That much is given. What isn’t given is who Milledge will replace on the roster. It was previously reported in many venues that either David Newhan or Sandy Alomar Jr. would be sent down to tripple A to make room for Milledge. But now Newsday‘s Ken Davidoff reports that the Mets will actually demote Julio Franco instead. We should have an official announcement by the Mets soon.
