Sánchez = Slacker?
The Mets finally had a spring controversy over the weekend when Duaner Sanchez was asked to leave camp for two days for what the team labeled excessive ‘tardiness’. During the suspension many mets players expressed a general feeling that Sanchez wasn’t pulling his weight while rehabbing from a separated right shoulder. The players felt that Sanchez wasn’t taking the rehab seriously and that his attitude toward the team could have been better. The general opinion translated into ‘this is a 25 man team and he’s rehabbing as if he doesn’t care about the other 24’. After a meeting with Willie Randolph on Saturday Sanchez apologized to the coaches and front office and started to apologize to the other players individually on Sunday. This issue should be over but we’ll have to wait and see to be sure.
