R.I.P. Cory Lidle
By now anyone reading this knows about the incident in which former Mets and ‘current’ Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle was killed. The story has been all over the news in the last 24 plus hours. Nobody would confuse Lidle with Thurman Munson, the Yankees catcher and captain who lost his life in a place crash in 1979, but his death is tragic nonetheless. Lidle’s career began with the Mets in 1997 and ended last week with the Yankees loss in the NLDS. Lidle had a career record on 82-72 with 2 saves (both for the Mets).
