Wright Not Going Anywhere Either
The Mets announced that they have signed David Wright to a contract extension that will keep him with the team at least through the 2012 season with a club option for the 2013 season. This insures that the left side of the infield featuring Wright and Jose Reyes will be in Flushing together through the 2010 season as Reyes signed a contract last week. Securing these two players goes a long way toward insuring an exciting and contending team for the forseeable future. In addition to guaranteeing that two of the teams most exciting players will remain with the club it will also make the Mets a more attractive option for free agents over the next few years.
