No Victor-y This Time
Click here for a recap of last night’s game.
The Mets suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of Brandon Backe and the Houston Astros. VÃctor Zambrano started for the Mets and sfter retiring his first 10 batters he fell apart. But even so his teammates should have been able to pick up after his 6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB performance. Even though Zambrano suffered a meltdown it was the failing of the offense, not the pitching that lost this game. The Mets left 11 baserunners on base. The just couldn’t hit with runners on base and were abysmal when they were in scoring position. What else is new?
