You know it’s a slow news day when the only stories of the day are one of your radio announcers leaving the team and schedule information for next season.
The Mets now have a vacancy in the WFAN radio booth with the departure of Tom McCarthy. McCarthy spent two seasons with the Mets but now goes back to Philadelphia where he previously worked Phillies games from 2001 through 2005.
As for the schedule – it was released late in the day. The home opener is April 8 against the Phillies. The last She game ever will be played on September 28 against the Marlins.
