Milledge and Pérez Shine

Lastings Milledge kept up his flair for the big play yesterday when he doubled in two runs in the second inning yesterday. The runs gave the Mets a 3-0 lead in an eventual 5-2 win. The pitching hero was Oliver Perez. Coming off the disabled list Perez allowed 6 hits and two earned runs while […]

Mets 1986 Lineups

I was looking at some of my logs and noticed that I registered a few hits from web searches for information on the starting lineup of the 1986 Mets. So as a public service I now bring you some information on lineups the Mets used in ’86.

Milledge Dramatics

Since being promoted from the minors on Thursday Lastings Milledge has been in the middle of some big plays while not really being all that hot. He’s only batting .250 in three games since his recall but he has managed to score a winning run with a crazy slide to the plate (Thursday), hit a […]

To close the story on who is replacing Rick Down as the Mets hitting coach Howard Johnson was named to the position with Rickey Henderson replacing Johnson as first base coach.

Queens is Burning

What a crazy day yesterday was. Rick Down was fired as hitting coach. Rickey Henderson was added to the coaching staff but to an unannounced position. Who Will Make Room For Milledge?

Lastings Milledge will join the Mets tonight and be the regular left fielder until Moises Alou returns from the disabled list. That much is given. What isn’t given is who Milledge will replace on the roster. It was previously reported in many venues that either David Newhan or Sandy Alomar Jr. would be sent down […]

Down Out, Henderson In!

According to various reports Rickey Henderson has replaced Rick Down as the Mets hitting coach. The move was probably prompted by disappointing hitting performance this season especially by Carlos Delgado. Henderson has helped Jose Reyes tremendously the last couple of years. Let’s see if he can work his magic on some of the other players.

Tech and the Washington Nationals

A recent issue of PC Magazine ran an article that involved two of my favorite things: baseball and technology. The article described how the Washington Nationals are using technology in ticket sales, especially for season ticket holders to resell tickets they’re not going to use. Pretty cool stuff.
