Bonds’ Naps Are Newsworthy?

The Toronto Star has a report about San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds

having taken a nap on the clubhouse floor. Why exactly is this being reported? What’s the use of such a story? It’s not bad enough that he’s taking his tainted career toward breaking Babe Ruth’s second place on the all time home run list? Now we need to get every detail of how he’s keeping himself together?

If you’re going to report such trivialities then you may as well report all of the details. Don’t leave us in the dark. The public wants to know. Did he snore? Drool? Grind his teeth?
