MLB Opening In Japan

The Major League Baseball season opens in Japan with the New York Yankees opening a 2 game set with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. I hate when they open the season with games in Japan. It makes no sense beyond the international marketing angle. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t have any problems with the Japanese. But fans of both teams lose a home game in their cities and the games start 5:05 AM local time making it impossible for anyone who works or goes to school to enjoy. It’s one thing to do this for exhibition purposes but they should keep the games that count in their intended locales.
